In Depth Study

Foundation Programme
Like what you hear and want to find out more?
Interested in deepening your understanding of Buddhist teachings?
Wish to make some commitment to your studies and study along side others?

Foundation programme is run on a Sunday during term time from 4pm – 9pm (includes a break for supper). The course is taught by Kelsang Leksang and we are presently studying Joyful Path of Good Fortune by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.

On Foundation Programme we engage in systematic study of commentaries by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. The course involves weekly attendance during term time so that we can study consistently and receive encouragement and inspiration to integrate the teachings into our daily lives.
Everyone on the study programme makes a commitment to the course, which enables us to make meaningful friendships, whereby we can help and inspire one another with our spiritual practice.

Geshe Kelsang Gyatso has set up study programme in Dharma Centres so that students can study Buddha’s teachings in a structured way. If we randomly study profound subjects without any guidance we will not receive much benefit and without the help of a qualified teacher, our mind with remain uncontrolled, making it very difficult to deepen our experience.

Anyone can study on Foundation Programme and you can join the class at any time. Students enrol for one subject at a time and are asked to commit to their studies for that period.

Each class involves chanted prayers, a guided meditation, a teaching on each section of the book, discussion and an opportunity to ask questions.
